Magic Numbers: Liverpool
A statistical run-down ahead of the big Sunday clash.
1 Number of Everton defeats in last 17 league matches, only West Brom in September have beaten the Toffees in that time.

9 Number of derby matches won by Everton in the Premier League era. All have been the opening derby of the campaign, with seven victories at Goodison and two at Anfield.
10 For the tenth successive season, the first league derby of the campaign will be staged at Goodison Park. The last time Anfield staged the opener was in the 2002/03 season.
17 Premier League derby appearances made by Tony Hibbert, the most by an Everton player.
18 The record number of goals scored for either team in league derby matches, held by Dixie Dean, in just 16 appearances. Tim Cahill has scored the most league goals for Everton in derbies since the great man, the Aussie netting five in total.

34 Sunday marks the 34th anniversary of one of Goodison's most famous derby goals, Andy King's memorable strike securing a first derby win in seven years in October 1978. If you're looking for omens, that 1-0 victory was seven days after a 1-1 draw against QPR at Loftus Road. 125 The Goodison derby falls one day before the 125th anniversary of our first competitive home game, a 2-2 draw against Bolton Wanderers in the FA Cup on October 29, 1887. That game was played at our old stomping ground across Stanley Park of course!
