Good Night For Blues Stars
Joy for seven Everton players but nightmare for Coleman.
Friday evening's football was largely positive for Everton's international stars.
Seven Blues stars were involved in wins with only Seamus Coleman suffering defeat.
Kevin Mirallas scored in Belgium's 3-0 win over Serbia while Leighton Baines and Phil Jagielka were part of England's 5-0 stroll over San Marino. It was just as easy for John Heitinga as Holland beat Andorra 3-0.
Nikica Jelavic played 65 minutes as Croatia won 2-1 in Macedonia, while overnight Bryan Oviedo played in Costa Rica's 1-0 win over El Salvador and Tim Howard helped the USA beat Antigua and Barbuda 2-1.
But Seamus Coleman's first competitive start for Ireland proved to be a hellish evening as they crashed 6-1 at home to Germany.
Much had been made of England's left-back position in the lead up to the game and Baines will be pleased to have had a hand in two of his country's goals. Jagielka had little to do in defence as a brace apiece for Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck and an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain goal saw off the minnows.
Mirallas didn't emerge from the bench for Belgium until the 88th minute but his slotted counter attack goal made an impressive away win safe.
Baines will now be hoping to keep his place for Tuesday's game in Poland. Below we sum up the best moments of England's two Everton men.
3rd min: Baines forces a corner and when it's partially cleared Oxlade-Chamberlain's shot is tipped over.
13th min: Baines swings over a corner which Rooney glances wide.
22nd min: Jagielka is arrives around the back after a short corner but the ball is flicked away in the nick of time.
26th min: Another Baines cross is deflected and then headed over by Rooney.
41st min: Baines feeds Rooney whose effort is tipped just wide.
60th min: A succession of Baines crosses sees Lennon, Cleverley and Cahill threaten.
63rd min: England win a free kick perfect for a left-footer and Baines skims the side netting with a cracking effort.
70th min: Baines nods Shelvey's ball down, Lennon miscontrols and Rooney curls the loose ball into the corner for England's third goal.
77th min: Baines dances round his defender, pulls the ball back and eventually Oxlade-Chamberlain converts to make it five.
93rd min: Baines sets up Welbeck for the hat-trick but the striker's shot is blocked.
