Jela Link-Up Lifts Mirallas
Belgian forward pleased by Blues interplay.
Kevin Mirallas is excited by his flourishing understanding with Nikica Jelavic.
The Croat has scored three in his last three, while Mirallas has been getting better with every game.
The Belgian admits Jelavic’s qualities have helped him find his feet quickly and that their interplay comes naturally.
Mirallas told evertontv: “I mentioned last week how much I am enjoying playing with him.
“He is great at finding space in the box and freeing himself up which makes it easy to find him with a pass.
“While also he is very good with his flicks and little touches he gives to me so it works well both ways.”
On Saturday Mirallas was instrumental in the Blues salvaging a point from their trip to Wigan.
The forward, who turned 25 the day before the game, won a late penalty which was converted by Leighton Baines.
He added: “It was important that we got something from the game. There are no easy games in this league and it is never easy to play a struggling team on their own patch.
“I was happy that winning the penalty resulted in an important equalising goal that earned us a point but I would have been happier had I been able to convert one or two of the chances that came my way.”
