Heitinga And Vellios Nominated

Blues pair in the mix for northwest football awards.

John Heitinga has been nominated for the Premier League player of the year award at the Northwest Football Awards.
 
Heitinga, currently Everton's reigning player of the year, is up against the best performers from other northwest clubs, including Mersey rival Martin Skrtel and Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany.
 
The Dutchman's Everton teammate Apostolos Vellios is nominated for the rising star award and is up against a host of young talent from northwest clubs throughout the leagues.
 
The two awards are set to be decided by an online vote and the winners will be revealed on November 12.
