Away Success Boosts Moyes
Blues suited to performing on the road, says boss.
David Moyes believes a change in style has helped Everton become a fearsome away side.
The Blues travel to Wigan on Saturday aiming to emulate their success on the road at Swansea and Aston Villa.
The blip at West Brom aside, Moyes’ team have been incredibly impressive away from Goodison Park, and the Scot says it is down to a shift in emphasis.
He said: “We're approaching every game as we always have done - to try and win. We've got a different blend and balance to the team that allows us to do that.
“I've never heard a philosophy any other way but to try and win every game. Obviously the players that you have at your disposal can determine what way you go about trying to do that.”
History would suggest the Blues have every chance of extending their good start to the season.
Everton have only lost once in seven Premier League matches at the DW Stadium and have won on three occasions.
Moyes, however, is expecting a tough game and a rigorous tactical battle against a manager he respects.
“Roberto Martinez has done a brilliant job and that's why he has been offered two or three different jobs because of how people see what he has done at Wigan,” he added.
“Every Premier League game is tough. I've not found one of them that is easy and every game is very close. That's the nature of the league. I think Wigan are a decent team, I really do.
“But we always look forward to the games. When you have confidence and you're playing well, then it makes it a lot easier to go into them. We're enjoying it at the minute.”
