Everton 7-1 Southampton, Nov 96

Everton have racked up quite a record of high-scoring wins over Southampton down the years.
But one in late 1996 was up there with the very best.
The Blues, managed by Joe Royle, a man who had once scored four against the Saints during his days as a player at Goodison Park, got off to the perfect start when Graham Stuart tapped in with only 12 minutes played.
Andrei Kanchelskis then showed neat footwork to extend the lead just 10 minutes later before the late Gary Speed blasted home on the half-hour mark to grab the first of a fine hat-trick.
Indeed, the Welshman’s second came courtesy of a diving header less than two minutes later before, incredibly, Kanchelskis made it 5-0 inside 36 minutes.
Egil Ostenstad completed a sweeping move to pull one back for the Saints before half-time but Nick Barmby slid in to restore Everton's five-goal cushion just before the hour.
And there was still time for Speed to pop up with another header to complete what remains Everton's joint-highest Premier League win 18 minutes from time.
