Join Sharpy For A Brew
Blues legend joining in fundraising coffee morning on Friday.
Blues fans can share a hot drink with Everton legend Graeme Sharp this week, while helping to raise vital funds for people affected by cancer.
Everton in the Community, the Blues' official charity, is hosting a coffee morning on Friday as part of MacMillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign, and fans’ favourite Sharp is supporting the event.
Local residents can drop into Gwladys Street School between 9am-10.30am to enjoy coffee, cake and a chat with the Blues' leading post-war goalscorer - and he is calling on fans to show their support.
Sharp said: “Undoubtedly cancer has touched everybody in some way, so it’s important that we do what we can to raise money to help those affected. This is a really simple way to raise a lot of money, so I hope lots of people get behind it and pop down for coffee and cake!”
MacMillan Cancer Support is hoping over 1,000 local people will take part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning to raise cash to fund its vital cancer services.
Last year, over 50,000 people signed up to host an event, raising a record £10million.
Everton midfielder Darron Gibson (above) first backed the campaign last month when he met up with MacMillan’s ‘Muggy’ at the Club’s training ground to urge supporters to get behind the charity’s biggest fundraising event.
Show your support for MacMillan Cancer Support by visiting Gwladys Street School next to Goodison Park on Friday 28 September from 9am.
