Jela Gunning For Belgian Blues
Croatian out for more goals against Fellaini and Mirallas.
Nikica Jelavic has warned two of his Everton teammates he is on the hunt for more international goals.
The striker is set to line up against Marouane Fellaini and Kevin Mirallas when Croatia face Belgium in Brussels on Tuesday evening.
And with both nations off to winning starts in their quest for World Cup qualification, Jelavic is keen to follow up his decisive strike in Friday's 1-0 victory over Macedonia.
The former Rangers man applied a trademark one-touch finish to Mario Mandzukic’s cross within six minutes of coming off the bench to get new boss Igor Stimac’s reign off to a perfect start.
"I dedicate that goal to the Croatian people and hope I can score again on Tuesday," said Jelavic.
"We knew that Macedonia might and would defend, but with Mario I found the opening anyway. What we did remains a secret between me and Mandzukic.
"Offensively against Belgium, we will have more opportunities."
Baines netted his first international goal on his first competitive start for the Three Lions on Friday and is set to keep his place with Ashley Cole ruled out through injury.
Jagielka faces competition from Gary Cahill for a role in the team at centre-half after Chelsea's John Terry, also nursing an ankle complaint, withdrew from the squad on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Tim Howard and the United States will be out for revenge when they face Jamaica in Ohio. The States suffered a 2-1 loss to the Reggae Boyz in Kingston in the early hours of Saturday morning – their first defeat against the islanders in 19 meetings between the two nations.
It’s a similar story for Bryan Oviedo and Costa Rica as they travel to Mexico looking to avenge a 2-0 home reverse on Saturday, while John Heitinga’s Netherlands head to Hungary looking to follow up their 2-0 win over Turkey. Jan Mucha’s Slovakia entertain Liechtenstein.
Finally, in friendly action, Seamus Coleman will be hoping to feature for the Republic of Ireland when they face Oman at Craven Cottage.
