Dream Day For Young Blue
Youngster prints shirt for matchwinner Fellaini.
For every Evertonian, the Premier League opener against Manchester United was a night to remember - but the match was extra special for one junior Blue.
Seven-year-old Thomas of Southport was the lucky winner of a unique competition to kit out the Everton team in the new Nike home strip for the fixture at Goodison Park – and the youngster can proudly claim to have printed the very shirt worn by Man of the Match, Marouane Fellaini.
Thomas, who has his first Season Ticket in the Family Enclosure this year, visited Finch Farm in the week before the game to print a shirt for the Belgium international before presenting it to the man himself.
While at the training ground, Blues kitman Jimmy Martin told Thomas about how he prepares the kit for a match and also presented the youngster with one of skipper Phil Neville’s shirts as a keepsake.
On the evening of the match, Thomas and his father Brian joined the Goodison faithful to watch Fellaini head home the winning goal as David Moyes' men got their campaign off to the perfect start.
And Brian said: “It was such a fantastic experience to visit Finch Farm and the fact that he got Phil Neville’s shirt too was brilliant.
“To then watch a match like the Manchester United fixture and enjoy hospitality in one of the lounges was excellent. It really is the best way to watch a football match, for sure. And it could not have gone any better with Fellaini scoring the goal and being Man of the Match!”
To win the unique experience, Brian simply pre-ordered the home kit for Thomas on evertondirect.com and was automatically entered into a prize draw.
Now Blues fans have the opportunity to win another fantastic money-can’t-buy-prize by pre-ordering the 2012/13 third kit online at evertondirect.com.
When Everton welcome Southampton to Goodison Park on 29 September, one supporter will be offered the chance to become a Premier League photographer for the day, capturing all the match action just inches away from the pitch.
The exclusive competition is offering Blues fans the chance to take a seat alongside the very best Premier League photographers, take advice from professionals on how to capture action imagery and they will even be able to see their handy work in official Club publications and on evertonfc.com.
The lucky winner will also pick up matchday hospitality in the Captain’s Table Lounge for two friends or family members.
All supporters who pre-order the new 2012/13 third kit will be entered into a prize draw and the winner will be randomly selected.
Everton’s all-new Nike third kit is available to pre-order now on evertondirect.com. Supporters will be able to buy the kit in store at Everton One and Everton Two, and online from Thursday 20 September.
