Oviedo Fee Agreed

Blues agree fee for FC Copenhagen man.

Everton can confirm a fee has been agreed with FC Copenhagen for the transfer of Bryan Oviedo.
The versatile Costa Rica-born star is now en route to Merseyside to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms over a switch to the Blues.
Oviedo is set to switch from the Danish outfit, where he has become a regular, operating at both left-back and on the left side of midfield.

Everton assistant boss Steve Round believes that, should the player receive a work permit and agree personal terms, he will become a strong addition to the Blues' ranks.

He told "In terms of him as a player he can fill in multiple positions for us, he will be a big asset if we can get him.

"He can play left-back left midfield and left wing, all the way down the left, which will help us and give us good cover in the squad.

"I have seen him on a regular basis, I have been abroad and watched him, as have all the scouts and the manager. As yet his is not our player, we have work permits to get, that's why the manager isn't doing the media today, he's in London trying to tie it up and finalise it."
Before moving to Denmark Oviedo, 22, played for Deportivo Saprissa in his homeland. His move to Europe followed an impressive showing for Costa Rica’s Under-19s a they finished fourth in the 2009 Under-20 World Cup.
He has 13 senior caps for the Central American nation and won two Danish Leagues and one Danish Cup, the latter while on loan at FC Nordsjaelland.

Victor TayGreat move by the club!

Minik HansenIsn't Costa Rica in Central America? The text says South America... and the text is referring to Oviedo as a Dane ?? Anyways very much welcome to Oviedo, been a great transfer window!!! COYB.

Friday 31st August 12:37 Report Comment

Andres AvilaCorrect, Costa Rica is in Central America, not South America (common mistake by many). About the Dane thing, what they mean is he's coming from the Danish team FC Copenhagen.
