Boss Wants 'At Least Two More'
Boss sold Rodwell to fund new signings.
David Moyes says he chose to sell Jack Rodwell and now wants ‘at least two new faces’ before the end of the transfer window.
Rodwell joined Premier League champions Manchester City for an undisclosed fee last week and the Everton boss has said he won’t waste any time reinvesting the cash into his squad.
While he wouldn’t be drawn on names, Moyes insisted the Club is actively seeking fresh recruits.
Moyes said: “We'd already sold Joseph Yobo and Tim Cahill so it wasn't a necessity (to sell Jack) this year but I felt it was the right thing and it will give us a little bit of a chance of looking around to see what we can do.
“I am happy with Steven Naismith and Steven Pienaar and while you wouldn’t expect me to talk about other players – it is wrong to talk about players at other clubs – we are out there actively trying to bring at least another couple of players to the Club.”
Of Rodwell’s move to City, Moyes added: “I'd known about it for a wee while. It was something which I thought was right for Jack, it was right for Everton, it was something I just felt at this moment in time was right and gives us a chance maybe to do a little bit more business in the transfer market.
“We had to raise the money so hopefully I'll try to add to the squad before the season starts. It gave Jack an opportunity to go to a really good club and take his chances there.”
