Manchester City are ready to launch a bid for Jack Rodwell.

Roberto Mancini has been a big admirer of the Everton starlet since seeing him destroy his side in a crucial Premier League game in 2010.

Mancini was also impressed with the man-marking job that Rodwell did on David Silva when Everton visited the Etihad last season.

The Toffees value their young England midfielder at £20million, despite his recent injury problems.

City are looking to recruit young domestic players in a bid to comply with Premier League regulations, and want Rodwell and Swansea winger Scott Sinclair to bolster their squad.

City could face competition from Chelsea and Manchester United, though.

The champions also believe they are close to brokering a compromise deal that will see Emmanuel Adebayor leave for Tottenham at last.

paul merrisonRodwell is a huge loss, him getting fit was like a new signing for this season. would have loved to see Adam Johnson move hear. We look thin on the ground again.

Laurence KingLaurence King. About time we got rid of the lad with so much 'Potential', lets see if he fulfils it at City, i won't be holding my breath!

Sunday 12th August 18:34 Report Comment

steven heskethI reckon we get Adam Johnson on loan or maybe a permanent deal? He'd be an excellent buy for Everton!

Alan WynneVery dissapointing news, lets hope the fee is £20+ million & it allows us to keep hold of Bainesy. Also hope most of any money received will be given DM to stregnthen the squad. Good luck Jack.

Alec WalkerRodwell is not for sale. I am more concerned why Fellaini wasn't even mentioned last night, will the club keep us informed or let us draw our own conclusions ?

Sunday 12th August 11:40 Report Comment

Oscar Knows His HistoryWe've had such a positive summer, losing Rodwell could be the story that, once again, ruins our start to the season. We must keep him. COYB.

Sunday 12th August 11:22 Report Comment

Dale RotherySooner sell Rodwell than fellaini for 20 million as he did not feature for much of last season. And that would give much needed funds for Moyes to build team around Jalevic Baines Pienaar Fellaini

Sunday 12th August 10:52 Report Comment

Joe Garriganwe desperately need a pacy right winger and a holding midfielder who does not keep getting injured. Phillips of Blackpool and Charley Adam would fit the bill.
