Cahill Ready For Oman Test
Everton man in Socceroos action this wekeend.
Tim Cahill is ready to step into the Australia line-up and help fire them towards the 2014 World Cup.
The Socceroos face Oman on Friday in what is likely to be stiflingly hot conditions.
If Cahill plays it will be the first time he has played a competitive game for his country since September.
"I'm embracing the hot weather," Cahill insisted.
"I play in a pretty cold climate (in England) so I'm enjoying it.
"If you can play in this weather you can play in anything."
This is Australia's first game in the second group stage of Asian qualifying for Brazil 2014.
Oman were also in Australia's group in the previous phase and managed a win in Muscat.
"With conditions playing a part I think it is going to be a slow game but a game where we have to try and break them down to get the breakthrough," explained Cahill, who has two previous goals against the Gulf nation.
"Over 95 minutes it's going to be important that we keep our heads,'' Cahill said.
"It's not really a rush that we need to win the game as soon as possible.
"We're going to have to be quite tactical and clever but at the same time, Holger (Osieck) has his ways of breaking teams down and we've got a decent squad so hopefully we can do it."
