Evertonian Danny Critchley knows he made a good decision when he headed out in his trusty blue jacket on Friday morning.

Hours later Danny, 32, of Crosby, became the sixth and final Everton supporter to be surprised 'Out of the Blue'.

Midfielder Tim Cahill was circling the city centre in a ‘Stand Together’ Everton-branded taxi on the look out for a fan when he spotted the club crest on Danny's back as he was withdrawing cash from an ATM near Liverpool Central Station.

As our free video above shows, the Australian promptly leapt into action and gave the unsuspecting Toffee the surprise of his life.

"I was just stood at the bank and heard this commotion going on behind me. I turn around and there's the legend that is Tim Cahill just stood there behind me!" said Danny. "I was so shocked. I didn't know what was happening.”

Tim then handed over a 2012/13 Season Ticket as a thank you to Danny for being a Blue.

"I was happy just to see Tim but when he gave me the Season Ticket as well, I didn't know what to say,” added the lucky recipient. “It's amazing. It tells everyone why this is the People's Club."

Cahill followed Marouane Fellaini, Leon Osman, Phil Jagielka, Seamus Coleman and Phil Neville in heading out and about to surprise a fan 'Out of the Blue' as part of the 2012/13 Stand Together Season Ticket campaign.

Each player gave away a free Season Ticket and a signed shirt and the aerially-astute 32-year-old said he was honoured to get involved.

"I've been here eight years and this is one of the best things I've done," he told evertontv. "It was priceless to see Danny’s face and his reaction.

“We care about the fans. You try to do as much as you can and, for me, to have this interaction off the park is really important. I've been a proud Blue for many years now but this has made me even more proud."

Almost 20,000 Everton fans took advantage of discounted Season Ticket prices during this year's Early Bird window, meaning the total number of supporters signed up for the 2012/13 campaign is well above that at the same stage in 2011.

"It's fantastic," added Cahill. "And this kind of thing helps. The players want to be proactive and they want to get the fans involved and make them feel special. I think these sort of moments make them feel special."
