Everton boss David Moyes will need to weigh up his selection options ahead of Tuesday's trip to Stoke – but the Scot doesn't expect Leighton Baines to be back in contention.

The Blues are preparing for the second of three games in eight days and Moyes admitted some of his players are still feeling the affects of Saturday's 4-0 win over Fulham.

Baines, meanwhile, is edging closer to a comeback from the hamstring strain which has seen him miss each of Everton's last two games.

But Moyes believes the run-out at the Britannia Stadium will almost certainly come too soon.

"Leighton Baines is getting better," he said. "He'll have a chance for maybe next week but we'll need to wait and see.

"Otherwise, we've got a couple of knocks and bruises from the weekend so we'll see how we are come the game."

Moyes was asked if he would consider rotating his squad as the season comes to its conclusion and added: "I think we'll play what we think is the best team which gives us the best chance of winning.

"That's what we always try to do here. We try to win every game we play and we try and pick teams which can do that."

Stoke boss Tony Pulis isn't expected to have any injury worries for the clash.

Goalkeeper Thomas Sorensen may get a start at the expense of Asmir Begovic, however, after Pulis confirmed the Dane would start at least one game before the end of the season to aid his preparations for the summer’s European Championships.

Alec WalkerI would rather Bains be 100% fit for next season than risk anything.
