David Moyes will discuss Steven Pienaar’s Everton future with Chairman Bill Kenwright at the end of the season.
The South African midfielder is currently on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, with the deal expiring following the conclusion of the 2011/12 campaign.
And Moyes said: "I will talk to the Chairman at the end of the season so I don't think there will be anything done before then.
“For all the times people may ask me there certainly won't be an answer but, yes, it would be great to keep him.
“I think he's found somewhere where he is happy so hopefully we will be able to do something.”
Pienaar, who is expected to named in the squad to face Fulham on Saturday, established himself as a firm favourite at Goodison Park following his move, initially on loan, from Borussia Dortmund in 2007.
He made more than 100 appearances for the Club before rejecting a new deal and leaving for Spurs in January 2011 at a time when he had just six months of his contract remaining.

Alistair PirrieWould love peanuts to make a home at Goodison but think Spurs will ask too much to keep him. He should never have left.

e.j byrneBainesy, Peanut and Felli in the engine room have always gelled. Add Jelavic and Gibson to that mix and we should challenge for top 4 next season!
