Marouane Fellaini says he is happy to push forward and help Everton in attack.
The big Belgian starred in a more advanced role against Manchester United on Sunday, scoring the Blues' second goal in an incredible 4-4 draw.
The support-striker role is one Fellaini has been tasked with on an ad hoc basis since his 2008 switch from homeland side Standard Liege and one he insists he is comfortable to adopt.
"The manager put me behind the striker and I played for the team. The manager decided that and I was happy," Fellaini told evertontv. "When I played in Belgium, I didn't play this position. But when I came to Everton, the manager put me in behind the striker and I played well and scored some goals. It was good for me."
After beating David De Gea in between a Nikica Jelavic brace, Fellaini laid on a late leveller for Steven Pienaar at Old Trafford as the Blues twice came from two goals down to earn a point.
"I've played in games like that before, but against Manchester United it's special," the 24-year-old admitted. "They're a big team, you're playing at Old Trafford against big players but Everton played well and we deserved to get back in the game.
"For my goal, it was a nice cross from Hibbo and I just had to concentrate for the volley. It was nice to score.
"I couldn't believe though after it went 4-2 that we could draw the game. But we gave everything, worked hard, we had chances to score and we took those chances."
Everton will now welcome Fulham to Goodison Park on Saturday for one of just four remaining Premier League games.
The Blues sit just two points and two places above Martin Jol's side and Fellaini knows victory is key to keep the Cottagers - and neighbours Liverpool - at bay.
He said: "At the moment the team is scoring lots of goals and we have now four games which we will try to win and the first is against Fulham. I hope, and we will try, to win every game. The team wants to finish above Liverpool. We will try."

Trey DaviesFellaini, our best player! In the summer we need to keep hold of our big players, and sign a few decent names. Pienaar, Dempsey and Hoilett in my opinion! COYB
