Loan Stars Chasing Promotion
Update on the Everton youngsters out on loan.
Everton's loan players are bidding to get their adopted sides into the Football League play-offs next month.
England Under-19 international Jake Bidwell is currently at Brentford, with the Bees sitting eighth in League One.
Left-back Bidwell has made 22 appearances this campaign, including every minute of five consecutive victories that have kept the club within three points of the play-off places with three games to go.
Midfielder Adam Forshaw, meanwhile, made seven appearances for Uwe Rosler's side following his switch in February but is currently out nursing a broken jaw.
Fellow Blue Luke Garbutt has been at League Two Cheltenham Town since September, racking up 32 appearances for the Robins and netting twice.
The Whaddon Road outfit endured a difficult March, slipping out of the automatic promotion places they had occupied for much of the campaign, and while their hopes of a top-three finish have now vanished, play-off involvement remains likely for Mark Yates’ side.
Garbutt's most recent outing was a 4-1 win against Accrington Stanley, which saw him come up against Everton teammate Aristote Nsiala.
The defender has made 14 appearances for the Lancashire side, who sit in 12th in League Two with no fears of relegation but no chance of troubling those sides above them vying for the play-offs.
Another Blue out on loan is James Wallace, who has played his part in Tranmere Rovers' recent change in fortunes.
Under new manager Ronnie Moore, the Wirral club have picked up 20 points from 10 games and climbed to 11th in League One, comfortably clear of the drop zone.
Midfielder Wallace, who recently recovered from a hamstring strain, has made 15 appearances and scored once during his spell at Prenton Park.
Finally, Conor McAleny has made three appearances since his loan deadline day move to Scunthorpe United.
A 10-game unbeaten run has all but lifted the Iron to safety, a seven-point cushion separating Alan Knill’s men and Wycombe, the side currently occupying the fourth and final relegation spot.
Striker McAleny impressed in last month's 4-1 win at Chesterfield, but has missed the club’s last two games with a knee injury.
