Boss Pays Tribute To Supporters
Manager grateful for wholehearted Wembley backing.
David Moyes paid tribute to Everton’s supporters following their magnificent showing at Wembley.
The Blues were out in full force for their team’s FA Cup semi-final defeat to Liverpool – providing tremendous backing throughout.
Moyes said he shared their disappointment at the outcome and admitted his regret at not being able to give them another day out at the final.
He said: “The support was great, it really was, and I am so disappointed not to be able to give them a final. Also, (losing) against your local rivals makes it even harder to take. I know how they are feeling.”
Moyes, who stayed out on the pitch to commiserate his players, added that he felt for his team and vowed to do what he could to lift them for the remainder of the season.
“We were so desperate to get to the final for the supporters,” he said. “We felt that we were in good shape and in good mind to win this game and get to the final.
“So obviously when it goes like that I feel for them all. We are all in it together whether it is someone who makes a mistake or not. The team feels it and that is the way it is here.
“Today we are not full of the joys but we need to make sure we get back up training again and move on. It is lost, we have not won the game. We are out so all we can do is look towards the games we have left to play.”
