Blues Lose in Dallas Semis
Sheedy's young team beaten by United.
Everton are out of the Dallas Cup following a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United in the semi-finals.
The Blues fell behind to Michele Fornasier's opener - the United man slotting home after initially being denied by a great save from Russell Griffiths.
Everton applied plenty of pressure as they sought a leveller, but were eventually hit on the break as they committed men forward with Jesse Lingard scoring a killer second.
The Blues qualified for the last four having won 1-0 against Brazilian side Cortiba - the team United will face in the final - as well as crushing Bolivar 6-0.
Coach Kevin Sheedy believes the tournament has been a great experience for the players.
He said: "The economical passing, the simple techniques and the movement off the ball - they're things we haven't really come up against before.
"And the players have rolled their sleeves up and battled hard in really tough conditions. It's really hot over here and we even had to deal with a tornado at one point, so it's been a good trip!"
