Blues Into Dallas Semi
Young Toffees to face Manchester United in last four of tournament.
Everton will face Manchester United in the semi-finals of the Dallas Cup after progressing as the best-placed runner up.
The Under-19 side put themselves in good stead to qualify with an emphatic 6-0 win against Club Bolivar on Wednesday, but were forced to wait on the result of later fixtures.
With a Mexico Under-20s national team and the Dallas Texans both losing to Eintracht Frankfurt and Paris Saint Germain respectively, it was then confirmed that the Blues would progress.
The Blues picked up six points and a plus-six goal difference from their three group games, and now face the Red Devils on Friday at 6pm Dallas time.
The other semi-final will be contested by Eintracht Frankfurt and Coritiba FC, who Kevin Sheedy's side defeated 1-0 in the opening group game.
