'Three Important Games'

Moyes focus back on Blues' league campaign.

David Moyes says Saturday’s game against West Brom kicks off a really important spell for his team.

While it would be all too easy to get sidetracked by his side’s FA Cup exploits, the Everton manager was more concerned with Saturday’s game against the Baggies as he held his weekly press conference at Finch Farm.

“We have got West Brom, Norwich and then Sunderland and they are three really important games for us,” he said. “You’d be wasting your time asking me about the cup.”

Victory on Saturday would be a third in row for the Blues following impressive away wins at Swansea and Sunderland and Moyes admits he is keen to keep on building momentum.

“Maintaining our form is important and we just need to keep on playing well like we have done,” he added. “It has been a good period for us.

“We won some big games earlier in the season but I still didn’t think we played all that well, but in the last two games I think we have played really well.”

The Blues have already beaten West Brom twice this season – once in the league and once in the Carling Cup – but Moyes is certainly not expecting an easy game on Saturday.

January’s 1-0 win at the Hawthorns was a bit of a turning point for the Blues, and he added: “It was a very tight game and one that we needed to win and I think the introduction of Victor (Anichebe) and Denis (Stracqualursi) late on made the difference.

“Up until then it was a tight game and games against West Brom are always difficult. Roy Hodgson always has teams well organised and well drilled. They have got a good squad and I am not surprised to see them safe and in a decent position.”
