Baines Gets England Nod
Defender in Three Lions squad for Holland friendly.
Leighton Baines has been named in Stuart Pearce's England squad for this month's friendly against Holland.
The Blues defender currently has six caps to his name after breaking into the international set-up in March 2010 and is in one of the final selections ahead of this summer's European Championships.
With just three internationals left until the tournament, the FA are yet to name a permanent successor following the surprise resignation of Fabio Capello earlier this month.
Pearce has been appointed as caretaker manager for the friendly and knows Baines well from his role as coach of the England Under-21 side.
In 2007, Baines played all four of the Young Lions' games as they reached the semi-finals of the UEFA European Under-21 Championships.
With Jack Rodwell and Phil Jagielka still coming back from injury, Baines is the sole Everton representative in the squad, but he will come up against his defensive colleague Johnny Heitinga.
The Dutch centre-back is in line to make his 73rd appearance for the Netherlands in the match at Wembley on February 29.
