Nikica Jelavic says moving to Everton can help him achieve his dreams.
The striker, who joined the Club from Glasgow Rangers on Tuesday, is a regular in Slaven Bilic's Croatia squad but hopes a move to the Premier League can help him nail down a frequent starting spot for his country.
He also says he is relishing the opportunity to test himself in what he believes is the best league in the world - and is backing himself to succeed.
"Everybody knows this is the strongest league," he told evertontv. "For me, for everybody that is the case. It's not easy to come here and play, but we'll see. I hope it will be good for me.
"It's a big difference, obviously. But I think in Scotland you also need to be 100 per cent. Scotland helped me a lot I and I think I am ready for the challenge here."
With this summer's European Championships in mind, Jelavic thinks moving to a Club his international manager knows so well can only be a positive.
Bilic was one of the first people he spoke to after putting pen to paper on his four-and-a-half year deal and now he has a first-team place in Poland and Ukraine in mind.
"It's nice to know he was here and that he was an ex-Everton player," he said. "Hopefully playing at Everton will help me go to the Euros and not only in the squad, hopefully the starting 11 too."
