New Boys Meet The Media

The media descended on Finch Farm on Thursday as new signings Nikica Jelavic and Steven Pienaar arrived for their first day of training.

The duo, who both joined the Club on a hectic transfer deadline day, spent time talking to everyone from Sky Sports to evertontv and BBC Radio Merseyside before posing for photographs with their respective shirts.

Jelavic was the first to go before the television cameras, the Croatian international admitting his delight at joining the Toffees and confirming he is fit and ready to play if selected for Saturday’s trip to Wigan.

The striker was followed by Pienaar, who said a desire to play regular first-team football was the biggest factor in his decision to return until the end of the season on loan from Spurs.

The South African also said the choice to make Merseyside his base between now and the end of the campaign had been an easy one and that he hopes his performances can help fans forgive him for his departure to White Hart Lane 12 months ago.
