David Moyes says Steven Pienaar’s return will provide a massive boost to players, staff and supporters alike.
Blues chairman Bill Kenwright beat the deadline by minutes to thrash out a deal with Spurs counterpart Daniel Levy and pave the way for the popular South African to return to Goodison Park.
The talented playmaker left the Club last January but will now spend the remainder of the 2011/12 campaign back at the place where he made his name in English football.
And Moyes told evertontv: “It was just in the last few minutes that we got Steven to come back and that will be a massive boost – certainly to the players as they really enjoyed Steven here – they thought he was a great player.
“He had such a great partnership with Leighton Baines and I think we will all be looking forward to getting him back – if he can produce anything like the form he did last time then we will all be happy.
“I think the supporters certainly in their own way will be happy to have him back as well.”
Moyes added: “I also mentioned it to the backroom staff and they were all jumping up and down and were delighted to have him back. We will all be delighted to see him come back through the door.”
Pienaar himself revealed on Twitter that he was relishing a return to Goodison.
The South African tweeted: “Very thankful that Spurs management allowed me to go on loan and I'm very happy it could be to Everton, a club close to my heart."
