Home Draw Pleases Moyes
Boss pleased to be back
David Moyes has welcomed the prospect of another home draw in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
The Blues will face the winners of the replayed fourth round tie between Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday at Goodison in the last 16 after they saw off Fulham last Friday.
The draw affords the Blues a good opportunity to get into the last eight of the competition and be within one game of a Wembley semi-final.
Moyes, naturally, is not getting that far ahead, but is more than happy to be coming back to Goodison for round five.
“We're in good shape going through to the next round of the FA Cup,” he told evertonfc.com. “That was really important to win the [Fulham] game and be in the hat for the next round.
“I think all you ever want in the cup is probably to get a draw at home and we got that. We've had a couple of good draws at home and I'm just happy we've got another one.”
And while the Everton boss is adamant league position is always his number one priority, he understands the excitement a little bit of cup progress can foster.
“I think what happens when you enter the cup is that you want to do well, but if you go out then obviously you get your focus on the league,” he added.
“The Premier League will always be the most important thing because that's what gives you the big money from the nice people at Sky and the money from the Premier League.
“But I think while you're in the cup, there's always that little bit in the back of your mind that says hopefully this is our year, hopefully we can get good draws, hopefully we can keep going. We'll try and do that and do well in the cup.”
