City 'Too Soon' For Duo
Moyes will go with same group that beat Fulham.
Jack Rodwell and Sylvain Distin are both back in training – but neither will be ready to face Manchester City on Tuesday night.
That is the verdict of Everton manager David Moyes, who will also be without Leon Osman (knee), Phil Jagielka (knee) and Seamus Coleman (thigh).
He said: “Jagielka is still a long way off but Distin is certainly a lot closer.
“Distin and Rodwell have started training – the City game has probably come a little too quickly for them, but at least they are on the road to recovery.”
One player who will be present is Landon Donovan, who will run out fresh from claiming two assists in the FA Cup victory over Fulham, and Moyes was full of praise for the American’s influence on the team.
“I thought Landon started quite well,” he said. “I thought he was our best player in a couple of games. I actually didn't think he played quite as well in midweek.
“I thought he made the two goals but his all-round performance could have been better. But overall he's done really well for us. He's been great, he's come in and he's hit the ground running which was what we needed. You wouldn't know he was just someone that was here on a short loan.”
Ross Barkley, meanwhile, continued his comeback from a knee injury with another run-out for Everton's Under-18s in their 4-1 win over Manchester United at the weekend.
