Gary Ablett Funeral
The funeral of Gary Ablett took place on Tuesday.
Hundreds of mourners gathered at Liverpool's Anglican cathedral to remember the former Everton and Liverpool player and coach who died earlier this month, aged just 46, after a battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Everton manager David Moyes and members of the Everton squad were among those who attended to pay their respects.
Gary's friends and contemporaries, including Graeme Sharp and Graham Stuart were also in attendance, along with members of the Liverpool squad.
After the service there was a private cremation before a reception at Goodison Park.
Tim Cahill Tweeted: "Rest in peace to a legend Gary Ablett. An emotional funeral and also amazing turnout for such a great person."
Everton youngster Conor McAleny was coached by Ablett and said on Twitter: "Brilliant send off for Gary Ablett today. An Everton and Liverpool legend. RIP."
Fellow Blues teenager Adam Forshaw added on Twitter: "Great send off today at Gary Ablett's funeral. Just goes to show what a top man he was. RIP."
