Gibson Signs On
Midfielder joins from Man United on a four-and-a-half year deal.
Darron Gibson
Everton have completed the signing of midfielder Darron Gibson from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international joins on a four-and-a-half year deal and becomes the Club’s second signing of the January transfer window following the loan acquisition of Landon Donovan from LA Galaxy at the start of the month.
He will wear the number 4 shirt.
Gibson, whose last appearance for United came in a 5-0 win over Wigan on Boxing Day, will arrive at Finch Farm immediately and could make his debut when the Blues take on Aston Villa at Villa Park on Saturday.
A product of Manchester United's youth system, Gibson broke through the ranks during the 2005/06 campaign and has since made 60 appearances, scoring 10 goals - many spectacular efforts from long range.
Last season he scored in the Red Devils’ Champions League semi-final defeat of German outfit Schalke, just over a year after notching against giants Bayern Munich in the last eight of the same competition.
Gibson has appeared for his country on 17 occasions, scoring one goal.

Alan JonesHe can pass to our Strikers from a central position instead of going wide, that cannot be a negative. and if no pass is on he can always have a pop on goal :-)

Joel CurranGreat signing by Moyes. At last we have a central midfielder that pass further than 30 yards and is willing to shoot from 30 yards. A much needed signing!
