Evertonians have hailed the '£5 for kids' ticket offer as a huge success.

Almost 5,000 Under-16 tickets were purchased by parents for the FA Cup third round victory over Tamworth last weekend.

That figure is almost three times greater than the average for Under-16 attendance at Goodison Park matches this term.

And it is an initiative which will continue for the fourth round tie with Fulham at Goodison Park later this month.

Robert Elstone, Chief Executive of Everton Football Club, said: “We want as many youngsters as possible to experience the magic of live football and the FA Cup is the perfect time to reach out to the next generation of Evertonians.

“The ticket offer proved a great success against Tamworth and now that so many junior Blues have had their first taste of FA Cup action, we want to make sure they return to cheer the team on to the next round of the competition.”

The Fulham fixture is due to be played over the weekend of 27-30 January but the date is yet to be confirmed. Keep checking evertonfc.com for more details.

Fans have been providing positive feedback to the £5 offer on the Club's official facebook page.

Jack McCann: “Good price, should do it more often.”

Tim Summerfield: “Yeah, it was great! I got six tickets, two adults and four kids.”

Danny Clifton: “I took my four-year-old nephew for his birthday and he was made up.”

John Ingham: “I thought the pricing was good and even though I didn’t take advantage of the child offer, I think I will do next time.”

Gary Bloomfield: “Great idea to encourage young fans.”

Alan Westhead: “I took my son for the first time and as a result I shall be taking him again.”

Vicky Stevens: “I took up the offer and took my lad for his first visit.”

Mick Dee: “You got future Evertonians in the ground. Great idea.”

Ian Bruce: “Fiver for kids is great. More please.”

David Appleton: “Took my five-year-old boy along for his first game, don’t think I would have took him if it had been full price. Great idea, please do it again.”

Ian Hemsworth: “It was an excellent idea. I brought my four sons, one for the first time. Keep it up Blues.”
