Seamus Coleman will miss the trip to Sunderland, according to manager David Moyes.

The Irishman aggravated a thigh injury in the win over Swansea, limping out of the action after half an hour.

Coleman had been returning to the side having sat out the 1-1 draw with Norwich, and Moyes said: "Seamus had a slight thigh strain but felt 100 per cent and okay to play but it reoccurred and is probably something that will keep him out for a week or two.”

Besides that, the manager was understandably vague about the rest of his team news.

The pre-Sunderland press briefing occurred a mere 15 hours after the final whistle had been blown at the end of the win over Swansea and the Blues were still taking stock.

“It is difficult this time of the year because there are so many games,” Moyes added. “We are still recovering from Swansea and we’ll have knocks and injuries, but we are no different from any other club in the country.”
