Blues Support Power Of Thai
Different logo on shirt for Saturday's game with Norwich.
Everton Football Club is supporting a campaign backed by main sponsor Chang to help victims of the recent floods in Thailand.
In Saturday's game against Norwich City at Goodison Park, the players’ shirts will not feature the logo of Chang Beer but that of the ‘Power of Thai’, a new relief fund to help those affected by the natural disaster which swept across mainland Thailand earlier this year.
Under the banner ‘one flag unites Thailand’, Chang and other likeminded Thai organisations have established the ‘Power of Thai’ fundraising appeal to help the hundreds of thousands of people hurt or who have lost everything.
The specially commissioned appeal logo, which incorporates the national flag of Thailand and the English statement the ‘Power of Thai’, has been given the royal seal of approval by the King of Thailand, King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who granted permission to use the national flag.
Everton Chief Executive, Robert Elstone, said: “The Club welcomes the opportunity to support this real and worthwhile cause to help the people of Thailand recover from the terrible flooding. We consider Chang and the many Everton fans in Thailand to be very much a part of the extended Everton family so we are delighted to be able to help.”
After the game all match-worn shirts will be signed by each player and sold via an online auction with 100 per cent of all the proceeds being donated to the Power of Thai appeal.
