Seamus Just Being Himself
Coleman keen to get back to his natural game.
Seamus Coleman has vowed to play his natural game as he looks to get back to his very best.
The Irishman admitted he has struggled at times this term but he looked like his old self when he put in some typically energetic displays in the wins over Wolves and Bolton.
He puts that reinvigoration down to him allowing his natural attacking instincts to take over and resisting any temptation to play within himself.
“It has taken me quite a while to get going this season,” Coleman admitted to evertontv. “Obviously the injury at the start didn't help me, but the last two or three games I have done well and am slowly getting back to where I was last season.
“Sometimes it goes for you and sometimes it doesn’t. Maybe at the start of the season I was not as positive as I should have been.
“But against Wolves I thought ‘I am going to go back to being positive’ and it has gone well for me. I want to keep that going now.
“I think you know yourself when you are doing well and when you are not doing well and when you need to change things. Also, the coaching staff here and the manager here are brilliant and help you all the time. You learn and improve every day in training.”
Back to back wins have catapulted the Blues up the table and Coleman thinks Everton are capable of finishing 2011 on an upward trajectory.
“Everyone knows we had a difficult run of games,” he added. “But the last two have been great and the way it is now two wins and you shoot right up the table. We have some winnable games coming up and we need to stay focused.”
