Boss Tips Tim For Goal Trail

Boss backs Tim to hit the goal trail soon.

David Moyes has backed Tim Cahill to recapture his goalscoring form.

The Australian hasn't notched for Everton since December last season but went agonisingly close against Wolves last time out.

Moyes believes Cahill suffered from his Asian Cup exploits in January of this year but is confident the man who has so often been the Blues' goalscoring talisman will soon be back on the scoresheet.

"It has been difficult for Tim," said the Blues boss. "I don't think he's recovered correctly since he came back from the Asian Cup. He has found it quite tough since then.

"But I have no doubt the goals will come. He will get his goals - he has got them every other year and I have got no reason to suggest they won't."

Cahill has regularly weighed in with sizeable goal hauls since his arrival on Merseyside in 2004 and Moyes expects this season to be no different.

"The sooner he starts the better, but I still believe he will get his tally," declared Moyes.

"He usually gets between eight and 10 goals a season and I still believe he will do that."
