Seamus Coleman believes there is a ‘buzz' in the Everton dressing room at the moment and is keen to take the feel-good factor onto the pitch against Wigan.
The Irishman says the squad was boosted by the performance against Villa last time out and the advocacy of a boisterous home crowd, who roared the team on throughout.
And Coleman, who made a surprise start in that game, says that - allied with the arrival of Royston Drenthe and Denis Stracqualursi - has boosted morale in the Blues camp.
"There is a buzz in the dressing room, particularly with the new lads coming in, and everyone is pumped up for Saturday," Coleman told evertontv.
"We are expected to win our home games. It is good to get on top of the opposition early on and that is something we will try and do again against Wigan.

"We had a good week in training last week and a lot of things we were working on were put into practice on the pitch (against Villa). We have had another good week and will try and do that again this Saturday."
Like most people involved with Everton, Coleman said he felt his side were desperately unlucky not to emerge victorious last weekend.
He was enthused by the home support, however, and implored the supporters to continue ‘working together' with the players to produce good results at Goodison.
"I thought we were unfortunate against Villa," he added. "We should have won the game. We played really well and should take a lot of confidence into Saturday.
"Last year against Wigan was a game we should have won but it was last season and we don't want to dwell on that. We have a good season to look forward to this year and hopefully we can get the three points this time round.
"I thought it was great on Saturday and the fans were amazing. It was really loud, especially when Royston came on. The atmosphere was great and that is what we are all about here - we need to work together. We will do everything we can on the pitch."
