Everton are looking to extend their unbeaten run in all competitions to four games on Saturday when they Wigan Athletic at Goodison Park.

Roberto Martinez's side have made a solid if unspectacular start to the Premier League season, and were beaten for the first time last weekend by a Sergio Aguero inspired Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Blues legend Graeme Sharp has kept a watchful eye on the Latics and is hopeful Everton can replicate their performance in the 2-2 draw against Aston Villa as they look for their first home league win of the campaign.

"We didn’t do an awful lot wrong against Aston Villa on Saturday so I’d like to see more of the same. We could perhaps have been a little stronger against balls into the box but this week it is a different threat," Sharp told evertontv.

"Villa had three pacy players up front and Wigan don’t necessarily have that. We need to set our stall out and worry about ourselves. If we set out with a high tempo, put Wigan on the back foot and get an early goal, that will help.

"If we can do that then hopefully we can get the three points."
