Blues' DC Hospital Visit
An Everton delegation visit's a Washington children's hospital.
An Everton delegation spent a couple of hours at the Nation's Children's Hospital in Washington DC on Friday afternoon.
Jack Rodwell, Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, Conor McAleny, Ross Barkley and Graeme Sharp were joined at the hospital by DC United star Dwayne De Rosario.
The players visited several wards and spoke to parents and children during a two-hour visit.
DC United's Community department had arranged for some free books to be passed to the children and the players stopped by to help distribute them.
"It was a lovely visit," said Sharpy. "Obviously we've done this type of thing countless times at home and so it was a pleasure to be able to do so while we're over here.
"We're all complaining about the hot weather over here but something like this helps you put things into perspective."
One young Spanish patient was unable to speak English but Ross Barkley stepped in and chatted away with the boy in his native tongue!
