Bremen Match Confirmed

Everton to travel to Germany on August 2.

Bremen Match Confirmed

Everton have added the finishing touches to their already exciting pre-season schedule by confirming a friendly against German giants Werder Bremen.

The Blues will travel to the Weserstadion on Tuesday, August 2, to face the Bundesliga outfit. The game kicks off at 7.30pm CET time (6.30pm in the UK), and will be shown live on evertontv.

The match is a repeat of the 2007 friendly when the sides played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Goodison, with James McFadden and Anderson Da Silva on target for the hosts.

Bremen finished 13th in Germany’s top-flight last season – only the club’s second finish outside the top three in the past seven seasons.

They include established German internationals like Tim Borowski, Torsten Frings and Per Mertesacker, as well as names familiar to English fans like former Chelsea striker Claudio Pizarro and ex-Man United man Mikael Silvestre.

The trip to Germany comes straight after the Blues’ pre-season match at Birmingham City (July 30) and three days before they host Spanish side Villarreal (August 5).

Also on the agenda is a mini-tour of the USA with games against the Philadelphia Union (July 20) and DC United (July 23). That comes after David Moyes’ men begin their programme at Bury on July 15, while an Everton XI will also visit Oxford United on July 29.

The game will be screened LIVE on evertontv - click here to sign up.

ROBERT DONOGHUEIt seems that unless your comment is ultra positive it doesnt get posted on the site. The thing is that the club don't give us anything to be positive over, just a load of stories about players who hope to be better next season, Anichebe, Gueye, Bidwell youth is good but we need to sign a top class striker

Charles SouthernLets hope we learn our lessons from Villareal and Bremen, two quality sides. We didn't get a touch of the ball against Wolfsburg last pre-season and obviously took no notice, get it right this year boys!
