David Moyes insists his side are intent on getting the result they need to confirm seventh place in the table on Sunday.
The Blues complete their season against Chelsea at Goodison Park potentially needing a point to stay where they are in the Premier League.
Defeat for the Blues coupled with a win for eighth-placed Fulham over Arsenal at Craven Cottage could see Mark Hughes' side overtake Moyes’ men.
With that in mind the Everton boss has dismissed out of hand the idea of any end of season lethargy affecting his players.
“It is a Premier League game and a lot of people will pay to come and watch it,” said Moyes. “We have got to make sure we finish in seventh place – we have got that to play for and we want to achieve that.
“Chelsea can only finish second I think but they will want to finish on a high. No team goes out in the Premier League to do anything other than win a game.”
Moyes also had some kind words for opposite number Carlo Ancelotti, choosing to praise the Italian’s work at Stamford Bridge.
“Carlo Ancelotti has done a great job,” he added. “He got them the double last season and has finished second this season. There are no guarantees in football no matter who you are or what you spend and I hope Carlo is about a bit longer.”
