Chelsea skipper John Terry rates Everton as one of his toughest opponents, according to Blues Player of the Season Leighton Baines.
The England pair go head to head at Goodison Park on Sunday as the London side travel to the North West for the 38th and final game of their Premier League season.
Baines goes into the match fresh from collecting a prestigious treble of personal accolades at the Club’s end of season awards on Thursday night.
And the defender will hope to cap his Player, Players’ Player and Goal of the Season haul with another international call-up when Fabio Capello names his latest squad for a friendly against Holland at the start of June.
Meanwhile, it was during his last stint on England duty that Terry divulged his frustration with the Blues to the 26-year-old left back.
Six of the last eight meetings between the sides have ended all square with both Clubs claiming a win each, and Baines told evertontv: “We have done really well against them in recent games and I know that they are aware of that as well.
“When I was on England duty John Terry mentioned to me about the number of draws between the teams and that they find us difficult opponents.
“I don’t think they enjoy coming to play us as they have found us hard to play against.
“They will be looking for ways of coming here and getting a result and they are a top side with some of the best players in the world. It is always a big, big effort for us to compete with that but we can certainly take confidence from our recent results against them.”
