Young Everton striker hoping to reach Euro final with England.

Teenage Everton striker Hallam Hope believes England Under-17s can go all the way to European glory.

The young lions are in the semi-finals of the competition after a comprehensive 3-0 win over hosts Serbia on Tuesday.

Hope's brace in that game makes him the tournament's leading scorer (with three goals so far) and he is hopeful of increasing his tally when England face in-form Holland on Thursday,

“It gives you confidence to keep scoring goals and hopefully, I can do that and help us to win the tournament,” said Hope.

“The spirit was a bit down (after defeat to Denmark) but we knew we had to perform in this game and it took a big lift from all of the lads together.

“We’ve done well to come away with the three points really.”

England have won one, drawn one and lost one in this year's tournament but the Dutch went through their group undefeated.

“I’ve only seen a little bit of the Dutch, but they look like a good team,” he added.

“I think we have got good enough players to give them a good game though, so we’ll see."

England won the tournament last year when Ross Barkley was among England's star performers.

But Hope insisted the current squad won't be judged against their predecessors.

“There’s no real pressure,” he admitted. “But it boosts your own desire and it makes you want to win even more.

“Our captain Nathaniel (Chalobah) won the competition last year and he’s helped us this season.

“He’s a good player and he talks to us a lot and it helps us through the tournament.”
