Marouane Fellaini has revealed he is keen to extend his Everton contract.
The midfielder, 23, has just over two years to run on his current deal and has said he hopes to negotiate fresh terms in the near future.
Blues boss David Moyes has expressed his desire to keep Fellaini and it appears that is a feeling reciprocated by the star.
"Everton are a club that really care about me," Fellaini said.
"My relationship with the manager is excellent and I'm delighted that he considers me a key player and wants to extend my contract.
"The discussions have not yet begun, but I don't suppose they are far off. For my part, I'm ready and waiting."
Fellaini is currently out with an ankle injury and has not played since being substituted in the 2-0 victory over Sunderland in February.
The former Standard Liege man has had an operation and is hopeful of returning to action before the end of the campaign.
"My operation went well,” he added. “The plaster came off on Monday and that'll allow me to fully begin my rehab.
"If everything goes well I hope to be able to help Everton at the end of the season. I'm happy with our recent results. We've not lost in the league since February 13 and a Europa League place is possible for us."

ROBERT DONOGHUELeaving Cahill out would be tough Paul but I dont think we get the best out of him unless he's playing the lone striker role, having him on the bench gives us a good 2nd option anyway. Think we need to sell a few of the players out on loan to raise enough for a quality striker, I think Asamoah Gyan from Sunderland would be a good and realistic target

alexis leungFelli has got size, skill and very high workrate. Get him sign asap. The PL has become so competitive that if you have a couple of players relaxed and shoulders down, you simple lose the game. I think we won games without so many players because we managed to keep our workrate very high. I hope our young players understand this too.

Dan NallyMay as well play Coleman and Baines as wing backs, Heitinga, Jags and Neville back three... so it would essentially be... Howard (GK) Neville (DC) Jags (DC) Heitinga (DC) Coleman(RW/B) Arteta(AM) Felli (DM), Rodwell(AM) Baines (LW/B) Bily/Cahill (Support Striker) Beckford (ST) - an attacking formation but defensive as well with the three centrebacks and Felli as a box-to-box midfielder

Wednesday 13th April 14:28 Report Commentnicholas shukerdont log in to speak very often but i had to comment on this one. This is the best news i have had in a long time. Fellaini is integral to molding our team into a trophy winning team. I am a big fan of him but was sure he would be picked of this summer. But by the sounds of it this guy is a rare breed in modern football. He wants a home over money. Felli you are going to be a goodison legend! At everton we are lucky to have a number of players with this attitude.
