Villa Too Good For Drop
Boss says Saturday's visitors have too much quality to go down.
David Moyes believes Aston Villa have too much attacking quality to be considered genuine relegation candidates.
The Midlands outfit are just one point above the drop-zone ahead of their visit to Goodison Park on Saturday.
But three of their key attacking players impressed for England during the recent international break.
Ashley Young and Darren Bent were key in securing victory over Wales, while Stewart Downing was named man of the match against Ghana earlier this week.
"I am not surprised by the Premier League this year," said Moyes at his pre-match press conference. "You can be a good team and be at the bottom of the league. They have got good players, undoubtedly, but that happens.
"We were playing great football at the start of the season but we were near the bottom of the league. The Premier League this season has not gone the way you would expect and maybe that is the case with Aston Villa.
"I wouldn't expect them to be there come the end of the year. They have got too much at the attacking end to worry about that."
Villa have been under the stewardship of Gerard Houllier since September and Moyes is pleased to be renewing acquaintances with the Frenchman.
"I am really looking forward to it because I have known him a long time," continued the Blues boss. "I knew him before I got the job at Everton.
"He was a well renowned coach and I used to go to coaching courses and seminars throughout Europe and he was one of the main teachers.
"He has been excellent as a coach and a manager as well."
