Sharpy Chairs Revamped Forum
New-look fans' forum to meet monthly from now on
An open, honest and refreshing debate was the result as Everton legend Graeme Sharp chaired the first meeting of a revamped fans’ forum earlier this month.
The two-times League Championship-winning striker sat with a diverse cross-section of the Everton fanbase and members of the Club's executive team to discuss a wide range of off-the-field issues.
In its previous guise, the forum has been around for some time. But after a review it was decided it needed to be more representative to further involve supporters in helping shape the decision-making process.
With that in mind the Club went out last December in search of new members, culminating in 10 fresh faces joining a revised committee, which will meet monthly from now on.
The agenda for each meeting will be driven by the Club with input from the forum’s members.
January's meeting ran for more than two hours with topics including the atmosphere at Goodison Park, supporters' clubs, ticketing and fan engagement all discussed.
“The continued input of the fans is invaluable because it is important that we make the decisions that matter to Evertonians,” said Sharpy. “I think the first meeting of the new forum was a real success and it was interesting to hear the views that were expressed.”
The forum falls under a wider fan engagement project which the Club launched last year. The programme includes a commitment to visit as many supporters' clubs as possible, the organisation of new events and enhanced community activity.
