Killa Tips Toffees To Triumph
Kilbane says Blues will be too strong for West Brom this weekend.
Kevin Kilbane believes Everton will be too strong for West Brom this weekend.
The West Midlands outfit visit Goodison on Saturday with their 16th place in the table belying a positive start to the campaign which saw them win at Arsenal and draw at Manchester United.
Their boss, Roberto Di Matteo, is in his first season managing in the Premier League but has assembled a squad which isn't short on experience.
Kilbane was the Baggies' first £1m player back in 1997 and made over 100 appearances before moving to Sunderland and then to Goodison.
He told evertonfc.com: "West Brom have made some really good signings, including Paul Scharner who I know from Wigan and he has been a good player for them. They have also signed the Nigerian Peter Odemwingie who has made a difference.
"I think they are a good footballing side and, with the additions they have made, it is no surprise to me to see them doing well. They have a good manager and he is getting the best out of the players he has.
"So far they have not been fazed going up against the big teams and they have had some good results. Their attitude has been the key.
"But they have got a squad now with lots of players with Premier League experience, international experience and they have moved on a few steps from the last side they had which was relegated.
"I do not think they have one biggest asset. They are run really well. They have not overspent and they are solid and well placed to establish themselves in the top flight.
"They have won at Arsenal and drawn at Man United so they'll be confident going to Goodison - they'll certainly think they can get a result."
Ultimately though, Kilbane believes the Toffees will have enough quality to secure their first win in nearly a month.
He declared: "Everton are strong at home though and I would expect them to have too much. It is certainly a game they will look at as one they'd like to be winning.
"Both teams have goals in them and it could be a cracker with Everton winning 3-1 or 3-2 or something like that."
