Everton’s record signing Marouane Fellaini helped the Blues seal a record sponsorship deal with Chang at a special signing ceremony in Bangkok on Thursday afternoon.

The giant Belgian midfielder was mobbed by Thai Evertonians as he arrived for a press conference, jointly hosted by the Blues and their hosts, at the Athenee Plaza Hotel.

Chief Executive Robert Elstone and Paul Choong, Chang’s Senior Vice-President for External Affairs, were joined on stage by Fellaini as the Blues formally signed the biggest shirt sponsorship deal in their history.

The agreement, which will run until 2014, could be worth in excess of £12m to the Club and means Everton’s alliance with Chang is now the longest-running shirt sponsorship deal in the Premier League.

Mr Elstone and Mr Choong spoke warmly about how the Everton-Chang partnership has flourished over the seven years since it was first signed.

Fellaini then took the stage and participated in a question and answer session before officials from both sides formally inked the new contract.

Mr Elstone said: “We are delighted to be here in Bangkok with our very good friends from Chang and also to announce this new deal.

“Maroune was pleased to join us and has been a great ambassador for the Club. He is such an iconic figure and everyone here was delighted to see him.”

Fellaini, currently serving a three-match suspension for a red card in the home draw against Bolton, said he was blown away by the reaction he received from Thai supporters.

“It is my first time in Thailand and the welcome has been amazing,” said the midfielder, who will be available for first team selection again for the trip to Chelsea on December 4.

Chang also revealed they plan to launch a new marketing initiative ‘Live Life Large’ in partnership with the Blues. The scheme will give supporters from around the world the opportunity to visit Goodison on a matchday and experience the life of a first-team player and all its trappings.

Live Life Large also makes an allowance for the Everton first team squad to visit Thailand at some point during the three years of the new deal.

CRAIG WEILDINGHope he comes back the same as he was last season. Felli is brill.
