Everton have been handed a major boost ahead of the trip to Tottenham with Leon Osman and Tony Hibbert both agreeing contract extensions.

The homegrown pair have put pen to paper on two year extensions to their existing deals, meaning both will be contracted to Everton until 2014.

Osman, 29, has previously stated his desire to finish his career at Everton, while his teammate Hibbert, also 29, is the Blues' longest serving player.

Between them they have made over 500 appearances for Everton.

The pair are both products of Everton's prolific academy system and were part of the 1998 FA Youth Cup winning squad.

Midfielder Osman told evertontv: "I'm feeling great, it has been under discussion for a few weeks and I'm really happy to put pen to paper.

"There was never any question that I wanted to extend. We are really happy to be at a Club of this stature.

Right back Hibbert added: "It is good to have a couple more years on top of what I had. We have come through as two local lads and made a good career so it is pleasing."

CRAIG WEILDING2 VERY good loyal servants to our Club.

Mikel ArreguiGary, do you mean that you're old enough to remember the fantastic squad of the 90s who, unlike this one of Moyes built around players like these two, won loads of leagues and cups and CLs? Quite strangely, I can't remember it! Who were the so great and committed players who were so much better than these two, then?

Gary ReevesWe're all concerned,at the moment, about Pienaar and Heitinga's future at the Club. This news hardly redresses the balance,me thinks. Ossie and Hibbo re-comit,despite overwhelming interest from other clubs (my little joke there). Its like the 2009 Cup Final didn't happen - Get Real! . . "One step forward,?? steps back"!

Ricky JervisRefreshing to say the least, being loyal to the club that spent time and money in the making of the player, no wrangle over wages they just signed on the dotted line something of a rarety in this day and age, Rooney crying and winging before signing his latest inflated contract Man u can have him. Ossie and Hibbo we are all proud of you you always have given 100% to the Club may it long continue. Peanut what are you holding out for, Follow suit

Alec WalkerSo, the days when a player spent his whole carrer at one club are not over. Not many of these around now, money is more important than loyalty to lots of players. Well done Leon and Tony.
