Danny: Blues Look Strong

Former Everton striker Danny Cadamarteri believes his old club are more than capable of putting one over their arch-rivals this weekend.

The striker, currently with SPL side Dundee United, remains an Everton fan and will always be remembered for his special strike in a 2-0 win over Liverpool at Goodison in October 1997.

Cadamarteri, then instantly-recognisable for his dreadlocked hairstyle, ripped through the Reds defence before fizzing the ball into the bottom corner to crown a scintillating solo effort.

That strike sparked jubilant scenes among Blues supporters and the 30-year-old forward has backed the current crop to achieve another memorable result on Sunday.

Cadamarteri told evertonfc.com: “It's going to be an interesting derby but I think it's going to be a good opportunity for the blue side of Liverpool to really put one over the red side of Liverpool.

“At the moment they look at rock bottom. I think the result last week was so disappointing for them against Blackpool.

“They're obviously going to be up for the derby but I think confidence in the Liverpool camp is low and I just have this sneaky feeling that it could turn out to be one of those weekends where Everton have an opportunity to brag about a big win against the Reds.”

The striker, who has led a somewhat transient existence since departing Goodison, is confident Everton’s slow start to the season will soon be a distant memory.

He feels the first two months of the Premier League season have been largely unpredictable and the Blues will gather momentum sooner rather than later.

“It will, without a doubt, get better,” he said. “You look at some of the players they've got there now and it's a much bigger squad than in recent years.

“And it's some of the names that they have got there now. I think Blackpool are a prime example of the way this Premier League has gone so far. Some teams have started unbelievably and teams you were expecting to do well have started slowly.

“A lot of these teams won't be able to keep up the pace but Everton certainly have a fantastic opportunity to gather steam, get better and better and push up the table.”

Neil McAdam4-6-0 isn't going to win us the derby! not gna win us any game! this season has showed that. need to be playing attacking 4-4-2 formations at home because they are te games we can win and should be winning. We need to hope they are particulary poor on sunday. Jags isnt a major loss beacuse jonny is covering. Distin is my only concern but moyes would play him regardless. If fellaini turns up then we will control the midfield and need to hope for a good corner or cross for our goals. Billy will play on the left im guessing so dont expect any goals since most of his have come from playing on the right but he belongs on the left! COYB we can win, as long as the fans turn up in full voice then its down to the team and moyse.
