Phil Jagielka is expected to line up for the Three Lions at Wembley on Friday evening. 

England have won 19 of their last 23 competitive fixtures at home and while they are missing some key players, a solid back four and in form strike force should be enough against a Bulgaria side that is very much in transition.

They have not kept a clean sheet in their last nine games and are missing Dimitar Berbatov through international retirement. He scored 48 goals in 77 games and will be a big loss. 

England are 1.30 or 1/3 to win the game but can be backed at 2.07 (nearly 11/10) to win by two or more. They achieved that in 14 of those 19 home wins so on past form, never mind the desire to start afresh after South Africa, that represents good value.

In an afternoon kick off, Ireland take on Armenia.  In the last two qualifying campaigns, Ireland have drawn 50 per cent of their games.  They are tough to break down with ex-Toffee Kevin Kilbane a leading light in the back four but without Damien Duff may struggle to create, and the odds against a draw at 3.45 (nearly 5/2) make a lot more appeal than the away win odds at 1.73 or 8/11.

Wales have two of the men of the moment, Gareth Bale and Craig Bellamy at their disposal in Montenegro. The Welsh tend to play better away from home, scoring in eight of their last nine competitive trips and, having won twice away in their World Cup group are capable of at least a point in Podgorica. The odds on a win or a draw are 2.03, or just over Evens.
